Breivik participated within the political realm of the Norwegian conservative party, however, he was unable to attain a prominent position within its ranks. Breivik dedicated half a decade to gaming and browsing the internet, ultimately cultivating extremist ideologies.

Breivik managed to arrive at the island Utøya without being noticed as a result of a breakdown in communication among the Norwegian law enforcement.

Breivik had 75 minutes alone on Utøya due to a succession of significant errors made by the police, during which he tragically took the lives of 69 innocent individuals.

During his trial, Breivik exhibited no regret and seized the opportunity to showcase his extreme ideologies instead.

While there were discussions about Breivik's mental state, ultimately he was deemed accountable for his deeds by the court.
