The Princeton Language Institute

Elementary school marks the end of our reading training for many of us, so our reading patterns are old-fashioned. However, to cope with today's fast pace, you'll need to learn prioritizing, previewing, and speeding up your reading. Take a 5-minute break after every 20 minutes. It has been proven that people can maintain concentration while reading for about 20 minutes, so don't read for too long. Instead, allow your brain and eyes to rest for five minutes every 20 to 30 minutes. Also, don't read for more than an hour without giving a break.
