Recruitment efforts by top firms, particularly targeting Ivy League students, enticed many into finance, often as a practical solution to student debt or uncertain futures. However, the sacrifices required left some, like Jeremy Miller-Reed, disillusioned, prompting them to leave in search of more fulfilling paths. The allure of Wall Street remains strong, but its long-term impact on individuals and society raises significant questions.
