It's the result of our innate biological development to have a spiritual capacity. However, it is still up to us to decide whether or not to use this ability. The choice is ours whether to meet hardships in life with control and self-reflection, seek rewards, or restrict ourselves. The other option is to become aware of something more profound: our deep connection with a universe in which every living creature possesses common knowledge. Being spiritually aware might prevent anxiety and depression, helping us establish lifelong well-being. Give the "three doors" practice a try. This practice was created by Miller to cultivate awakened attention. On a piece of paper, sketch a road to symbolize your life. Remember an obstacle, failure, or hardship you have gone through and draw a door that is shut to represent it. Then take a moment to reflect on what happened as a result of that event. How have you gained new insight, found a new path, or made new connections? Draw this in the form of an open door defining a brand-new path. Alternatively, you may remember a messenger or mentor who assisted you at the time. You may now repeat the practice, drawing two more closed doors and how they helped open two new ones.

De quoi s'agit-il ?

The Awakened Brain analyzes spirituality from a scientific perspective. Based on Dr. Lisa Miller’s personal journey and research over decades, the book argues that the human body is innately capable of spirituality. When people engage with this spiritual awareness, it can protect them against depression, improve their health, and unveil the profound interrelationship among all living beings.
