Days later, he was assassinated at the Audubon Ballroom by Nation of Islam gunmen, leaving behind a legacy of courage and resilience. Earlier, Malcolm had undergone a transformative journey, evolving from a minister of the Nation of Islam to a global advocate for racial justice. His pilgrimage to Mecca reshaped his views on race, inspiring him to embrace a more inclusive perspective while remaining critical of systemic oppression. Through his activism, Malcolm sought to empower Black communities, challenge historical injustices, and foster global solidarity, leaving an indelible impact on the fight for equality.
