The main theme of this book:
The history of Russia is intricate. Numerous individuals living in Russia during the 1990s were unexpectedly introduced to a new capitalist society. Those who had dedicated themselves to Communism felt deserted. In the meantime, those who had anticipated a new form of compassionate socialism felt deceived. A grim past was revealed. Violence spread beyond prisons: there were internal conflicts and ruthless criminals. However, for certain individuals still residing in small and isolated Russian villages, everything appears to remain unchanged.
