Résumé du livre
Stanley Milgram remains one of the most important and influential scientists in social psychology. His famous “Milgram Experiment” at Yale University has made its way into psychology and popular science books around the world.
The main idea in this book:
The majority of individuals will unquestioningly comply with the orders of perceived authority figures, even if it entails causing harm to others. This is because going against authority requires a significant amount of effort, which will also bring about stress and self-doubt. However, this does not mean that we are destined to simply follow the crowd. Each and every one of us has the potential to be a hero.
Suggested additional reading: Intelligent Disobedience by Ira Chaleff
