Sara Eckel began her career as a full-time freelance writer in 1997. Since then, numerous newspapers and publications, including as The New York Times, The Guardian, Forbes, and Psychology Today, have published her essays, art criticism, and news articles. She has taught online writing at Skillshare and resides in Kingston, New York with her spouse.

The central theme of this book: Traditional dating advice no longer resonates with today’s independent women who are less focused on marriage and kids. Many women have embraced singleness as an opportunity for self-discovery and different types of love. Though loneliness may still arise, moving beyond old-fashioned dating tips can lead to greater self-love and less dependence on others for happiness.
