Résumé du livre
Masaaki Imai is a Japanese organizational theorist and management consultant known for his contributions to the field of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Kaizen, which is a Japanese term for continuous improvement. He is considered one of the pioneers of quality management and has had a significant influence on business practices worldwide.
For Gemba Kaizen to succeed, self-disciplined employees must be engaged at every level, and managers must also be fully involved. Nevertheless, the Kaizen philosophy can simplify, revolutionize and thrive your company with a few simple, practical techniques.
To solve any problem, ask five questions.
Apply the five-why technique the next time you try to resolve an issue. Whenever a problem arises, ask why more than five times. For instance: Why is absenteeism increasing? Why are there many injuries at the Gemba? Why is the floor slippy? Why is there a leak in one of the machines? Why doesn’t the valve close tightly? It won't be long before you find the answer!
"The starting point for improvement is to recognize the need."
"Kaizen is everyday improvement, everybody improvement, everywhere improvement."
"Quality begins when everybody in the organization commits to never sending rejects or imperfect information to the next process."
