Résumé du livre
Adyashanti is an American-born spiritual teacher. His books include Emptiness Dancing, The End of Your World, True Meditation, The Way of Liberation, and Falling into Grace.
Recognizing oneself begins in infancy, forming the foundation of egoic consciousness, which strengthens as we grow, shaping our self-image and influencing our emotions. This constructed self-image, often shaped by societal perceptions, becomes a source of suffering as we strive to protect or enhance it. Memories, though vivid, are unreliable constructs, and clinging to them deepens our pain. True peace emerges when we stop resisting emotions and accept them fully, as seen in the writer’s experience of finding tranquility through grief. The belief in separateness is an illusion, perpetuated by egoic consciousness, which disconnects us from reality and fuels a futile desire for control. Transcending this illusion requires unlearning beliefs, embracing the present moment, and recognizing the "nothingness" beyond egoic constructs. By letting go of dualistic thinking and surrendering to the present, we access a profound, ever-present peace that lies beyond the illusions of the mind.
