Intuition is a vital tool for coaches, offering insights that, while not always evidence-based, can lead to meaningful conversations when interpreted thoughtfully. By observing and addressing gut feelings directly, even if awkwardly, coaches foster authenticity and trust. Co-active coaching emphasizes collaboration, focusing on dialogue, exploration, and transformation rather than merely solving problems. This approach is grounded in four pillars: believing in clients’ innate creativity and capability, adopting a holistic perspective, attentively observing verbal and nonverbal cues, and promoting profound change. Genuine curiosity and impactful questions deepen client engagement, encouraging fresh perspectives and self-discovery. Coaches also help clients align decisions with their values, which are best uncovered through personal experiences and prioritized for clarity. Empathetic listening, spanning self-focused (Level I), client-focused (Level II), and intuitive (Level III) levels, is essential for understanding clients’ deeper needs. Establishing a secure, honest, and open environment, alongside clear expectations through a discovery session, lays the foundation for a transformative coaching relationship.
