Martin Ford is an American author and futurist known for his work on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and robotics on the job market and the economy. He has written books and articles that explore the challenges and opportunities presented by advancing technology. His most notable work is "Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of a Jobless Future," published in 2015.

Artificial intelligence is now highly efficient at completing specific tasks with the help of deep learning and neural networks. Yet, it will take advances in neuroscience, unsupervised learning, and hybrid systems before we reach the era of Artificial General Intelligence. Nevertheless, even if artificial intelligence is not developed within our lifetimes, the role of AI in healthcare and the military is likely to gain prominence, bringing new challenges and providing significant benefits to humanity.
