Billie Jean King

Billie Jean King's goal was not only to become the top tennis player but also to unite people using her platform. She worked hard and remained determined to achieve this, leading to the formation of the first women's pro tennis tour and the Women's Tennis Association in 1973. With 129 career titles, including 12 Grand Slam singles titles, she became a prominent figure in the sports world. In 2006, the US Open tennis grounds were renamed in her honor. President Barack Obama awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and she currently sits on the board of the Women's Sports Foundation.
