Mary Wollstonecraft was an English suffragist, philosopher and writer. During her short life, she wrote novels, essays, a travel narrative, a history of the French Revolution, a book on behavior, and a children's book. With the emergence of the feminist movement at the turn of the twentieth century, Wollstonecraft's advocacy of women's equality and criticism of traditional femininity became increasingly prominent.
